Digital Integration Hub for near-real-time monitoring of logistics: The Arcese case study.
We attended Data in Motion, the Confluent Conference for the first time in Italy: it was a unique event where topics related to Event Streaming and the use of Confluent for real-time data management were discussed.
The title of our talk with Mauro Luchetti, Data Architect at Quantyca, and Massimiliano Catapano, Head of IT Global Infrastructure, Architecture and Development at Arcese, is ‘Digital Integration Hub for near-real-time monitoring of logistics: The Arcese case study’.
Key elements
Where is my shipment? What is the estimated time of arrival at the destination? Will the delivery be made as planned or are there any issues?
These are just some of the useful pieces of information for proper logistics management that the new Arcese Track & Trace system aims to provide in near real-time. In the talk, we saw the event-driven architecture of the digital integration hub that constitutes the core of the solution. We particularly focused on processing performance and data consistency along the entire flow, from the acquisition of operational sources to the use of monitoring systems.
